IL giro d'Italia illustrato

It was a 1 year long bike ride, probably the biggest project we have done so far, with a special flavor for us, because when we design bikes we always feel at home.

Our first memories of Giro d’Italia take us back to when we were little, glued to the TV watching the exploits of these super athletes, dreaming of climbing such high mountains.

We worked as a team of cyclists, but our means were not bicycles, but pens, keyboards, digital files, emails and video calls.

We have learned once again the importance of collaboration with people, and that certain results can only be achieved together, as a team player.

This project taught us a lot as people, even before as illustrators.

We thank Rachele, Maura and Marco from Quinto Quarto for choosing us and involving us in this project, for the trust and freedom of expression they have given us.

We thank Albano Marcarini and Gino Cervi, the perfect authors for a book that talks about heroic cycling feats, epic climbs and challenges between legends. They guided us by advising us on what to represent to best tell the infinite number of anecdotes they had in store for this book.

Finally we thank Micaela and Francesco from Bunker for coordinating this team and for the artistic direction.

It was a 1 year long bike ride, where sometimes we had to stand up on the pedals to accelerate, and other times let the bike slide without pedaling to better enjoy the view.

We can’t wait to tell you all about it, little by little, with some excerpts.

You can find it in all bookstores and online stores 🚲
