The art of wine - wine52
Reading emails from our inbox is an operation that sometimes offers surprises. Like when from Edinburgh, with a special briefing on the theme of Star-crossed Lovers, we were asked to design Romeo and Juliet for a wine label. We don’t know if it was chance or something else, but this commission immediately seemed right for us because the theme of the illustration was Romeo and Juliet’s Castles. Yes, the ones where we go almost every week either on foot or by bike after work. This time too, illustration took us on a journey because when we sat in front of the computer to draw, the trees up on the hill were still bare. We imagined summer evenings, Romeo and Juliet, vineyards and castles.
This collaboration didn’t stop at our home, in Veneto, but took us to Lazio with a second label, Fondatrice.
Amanti Sfortunati DOC is a Pinot grigio produced at the Cantina di Castelnuovo del Garda Soc. Coop. Agricultural; Founder IGT is a Trebbiano produced by Cantina Vini Vannelli. Both wines can be purchased on the Wine52 shop.
Our two labels are included in a project by Ashley Johnston called “The Art of Wine” for Wine52 which collects labels from 26 other artists.
Thank you Ashley Johnston, we are excited to continue working with you in the future.
